Tag: This or That

Hey everyone!

So I saw this tag on Beautyfashionbyme's blog and thought i'd give it a go!! :)

Coke or Pepsi?   Diet Coke all the way!

Icecream or frozen yoghurt?   Definetly Icecream, but I do like a good bit of frozen yoghurt when i'm trying to be healthy.

Clothes or Makeup?  Aaaah tough one! I LOVE both, but i'd probably have to say clothes!  I think if you have a few key makeup products they will get you by, whereas you need a larger selection of clothes to experiment with different looks.

Hairspray or frizz lotion?  Hairspray, I like having a good hold on my hair and lots of volume :)

T.V or Book?  I watch more T.V than I read, however I do like to read and am currently reading 'A Stolen Life' by Jaycee Dugard.

Pool or Beach? Ok I love the beach but if I want to swim I'd prefer the pool because to be honest the sea freaks me out! :p

Water or Soda? Water

Sandals or Boots? Sandaaaals, cos that means its hot !! I LOVE the summer time.

Handbag or backpack? Handbag

Team Jacob or Team Edward?  Sorry guys but not a major fan of this! So neither ha!

Mall or Online shopping? If I know exactly what I need probably Online shopping but if not Mall, or shopping centre here in the UK!

Tennis or Football? Football, I find Tennis boring!

MAC or Maybelline? MAC <3

Thanks for reading guys!!

I tag you, let me know if you do this as i'd love to read it.

Re-kindled LOVE: MAC Lipstick in Faux!!

Hey guys!!

So last week I was going through my lipsticks and I found FAUX by MAC!! Now i've had this for a long time, but haven't worn it in ages. After applying it on Wednesday I have worn it every single day since!  It's always a good idea to regularly go through your makeup collection, cos if your anything like me you forget you have certain products and neglect them a little bit. I love it so much I thought i'd do a quick blog post on it...

Faux is a Satin finish so isn't matte but isn't super glossy either, its somewhere inbetween. The colour is a little hard to explain but here goes.... so to me it is a cool toned medium pink and goes with everything!!  It can be used with a dark, sultry smokey eye for the evening or just mascara in the day for a very natural look!

Today I paired it with a megashine lipgloss from NYX in the colour beige, this is what it looked like.......

What are your favourite nude lipsticks??

Look what I made: Jewelled frame!

Hey guys,

This is just a super quick post to share with you a cute little frame I made! :) Aswell as fashion and beauty I love making and designing my own little things, from photo frames to bath bombs! (oooh, thats a good idea for a new post- i'll show you that soon!)

This is just a plain wooden frame that I got in a pack of 3 from Ikea! I used tiny weeny nail gems, pearl beads from an old bracelet, bigger gems and a couple of fake roses off of on old hair band! I stuck them all on with extra strong craft glue and this was the finished result....

It was pretty time consuming but I had fun doing it and I really love the way it came out.  It just goes to show you really can reuse old bits and bobs to make something really pretty and girly! All I need now is a photo to put in it!

Have you guys made anything recently?

Thanks for reading.

Tag: Would you rather...

Heeey everyone,

So I came across this tag as I was catching up with all my favourite beauty channels on YouTube, and thought it was really fun and interesting! I thought the questions were pretty funny so I decided to give it a go...

1) Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up, or nice hair and no make-up?

Messy hair and nice make-up all the waaay!! In my opinion if you have a put on your makeup really nicely no one will really notice your hair as they will just be looking at your lovely face! :D

2) Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?

Aaaaaaah!!!!!! Neither!! If I had to HAD TO choose I would shave my eyebrows because you can always have them tattooed back on. Also my eyebrows grow super quick so they would probably grow back over time.

3) Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
Well seeing as I live in the UK I can't shop at Sephora!! I'm gonna switch Sephora for Boots instead.....Sooooo, I'd rather shop at Boots for the rest of my life than Mac because they sell many different brands and have a larger variety of beauty products!

4) Would you rather wear the lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?
80's perm, I adore big curly hair and wish I had it :(

5) Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
Tricky one- I would say obvious foundation line because thats easier to fix, hehe.

6) Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
MC Hammer pants all the way baby!

7) Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?
Well I never spray tan so I guess tan lines...atleast they are natural!

8) Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?
DEFO bad hair colour cos that can be rectified easier than a hair cut.

9) Would you rather have youtube or twitter taken away forever?
Twitter!

10) Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
I LOVE makeup brushes buuuut HELLOOO who can go without mascara forever??!! But then again makeup brushes make everything look so much more blended and flawless and you could always wear fake lashes!!  Ok, i'll go for makeup brushes with no mascara! booooo :(

Thanks for reading lovelys!

I tag you if your reading <3

Nails of the day 'Studded Black Rock nails'

Hey guys!!

So today I thougt i'd do another Nails of the Day post as I just created this look and was really happy with how they came out! Woop :) I decided to go for an edgy rock look, this is how I went about it...

So firstly I used 2 coats of Barry M's Nail varnish in black, once this was completely dry I used Sally Hansen's Double Duty top coat. While this was still wet I added four gold studs to my ring and pointer finger! I bought these off of Ebay and also have them in silver, you can create such fun and interesting looks with them! I then sealed them into place with another layer of top coat. This was the end result......

To emphasise my rock inspired look further, I added my gold studded black leather look bangles from Primark!

Mini Haul

Hey guys,

So I went on a little mini shopping spree with my good friend and fellow beauty blogger Nat ( her link will be down below) and thought i'd show you what I picked up! :)

So first up was TopShop, they are having a major sale on their jewellery! (and I am an absolute sucker for jewellery) I had to really control myself though cos I'm trying to save at the minute, so I limited myself to three items.

First up are these two gold rings. The one on the left is a gold double skull ring, the peach coloured gems in the skull eyes and band give this edgy ring a girly touch! The second ring is sooo pretty and glam, for £1.50 each I just couldn't resist.

I had been eyeing this spiky silver bracelet up for ages but just couldn't justify paying £11.50 for it, (its original price) when I saw it was marked down to £1.50 I was like yeeeeey!

Then we went into Boots, Natural Collection had an offer on for 3 for £5. I picked up the Lipstick in Biscuit, Blusher in Pink Cloud and Eyeliner in Olive Green.

NATURAL COLLECTION is one of those brands that i'm just not drawn to, but after the hype over the NATURAL COLLECTION blushes I thought i'd try this one out! So far so good, i'm loving it! I've also fallen in love with this lipstick, its just the perfect nudey brown, defo gonna pick up a few more blushes and lipsticks from them next time I'm in boots.

I love the PIXIWOO sisters and got so excited when I saw Boots are now stocking Sam's brushes,
this was the last brush left out of ALL the Real Techniques brushes, the shader brush so I had to grab it!

This brush was £7.99 but I used my Boots Points so I got it free! Yeeeeey!

Boots are also doing a 3 for 2 on Champneys products, these are the three I picked out!

MEDITERRANEAN BLISS SHIMMERING BODY OIL: OMG, this makes your skin super smooth, smells delish and gives your skin the most amazing sun kissed shimmer!
THAI ROYALE BEAUTY OIL: Can be used as both a moisturising oil or massage oil.
RELAXING PILLOW MIST: Lavender scented mist to relax you before bed.

So the last place I visted was Clinton Cards, I picked up three Mini Yankee Candles in Pink Sands (which I've already started to burn) Vanilla Cupcake and Christmas Cookie (which I gave to my boyfriend)

YEY I LOVE CANDLES!!

Hope you enjoyed my little haul girlies! Thanks for reading!

Nails of the Day!!

Hey Guys,

So...I LOVE to switch my nails up and try different looks out! I probably paint my nails three times a week (yes I'm sad) but I just can't stand chipped nails and get bored really quickly!

So this is the look I created yesterday.....

So I'm wearing a hot pink colour on three fingers, and shiny gold nail wraps from NAILS ROCK on my other two fingers.  I then paired it with a gold and pink ring to finish the look :)

The pink I used was by ORLY but im not sure on the shade as it rubbed off!! Grrrrrr. This is a matte finish, so I added my SALLY HANSEN top coat as I wanted a shiny finish to the look. I bought mine at BOOTS.

You can find these on ASOS at BOOTS and TOPSHOP :) They are pretty easy to use, but can take some time to get used to.  Just match the size to your nail and heat with a hairdryer.

FINISHED LOOK...

Whats in my makeup bag?

Hey Guys!!!

I didn't really know what to blog about as i'm at my parents house for a few days and don't have alot of stuff with me. Then I thought, why not do a whats in my makeup bag so you guys can see the kinda things I bring with me if i'm travelling. I'll briefly talk about each item, but if anyone has any questions about any of the products listed, feel free to ask and maybe i'll do an indepth review on it :)

So this is my makeup bag, it was £3.50 from Primark and I adore it cos I can fit sooooo much stuff in it. These are the things I threw in my makeup bag before leaving my house, I like to have a selection of things as I never know what kind of look I want to go for.

First up....Foundations

Estee Lauder double wear foundation is a full coverage foundation that I love to wear on a night out or when I feel I need a little extra coverage.  It lasts all day and has spf 10 which is an added bonus!! Mine is in the shade SHELL BEIGE 05.
MAC Studio sculpt foundation is probably my favourite foundation, I wear it everyday as it gives me fantastic coverage and works with my yellow undertones. This foundation has an spf of 15, I LOVE IT. Mine is in the shade Nc42

Primers...

Vivo face primer from tesco! Its great if your looking for a cheap primer, comes out clear and is so silky soft on the skin. Helps my foundation go on smoothly and prevents creasing under my eyes.
Next is Urban decays eyeshadow primer potion this is a neccessity for me when doing strong eyeshadow looks, makes the colour waay more intense and ensures it lasts all night!
Next is painterly paint pot from MAC, I use this when I want a nude matte eyeshadow look.

Eyeshadows....

So these are the eyeshadow's I selected to bring, first is a YSL duo eyeshadow in number 1. This is great for a dramatic shimmer look, it has a shimmery pale cream and a shimmery dark brown, both with shimmery silver undertones. I then have a quad containing three MAC shadows, top left is NAKED LUNCH, a great highlighting colour, top right is CONTRAST, a dark bluey purple and bottom left is PATINA, a goldy mauve. This quad can be used for both dramatic and everyday looks.

The single eyeshadows are all matte finishes, the cream one is by NYX and is called NUDE, the black is by MUA in SHADE 20, and the cool toned brown is by BOBBY BROWN and is in the colour WOODROSE. I love all of these shadows as they all have great pay off and lasting power.

Mascaras and Eyeliners....

At the minute im using Scandaleyes mascara by RIMMEL, it has a big juicy wand and makes my lashes super thick and black...I love it and highly recommend it! Also pictured is SLEEK'S Kajal eyeliner in NOCTURNAL, its super black and creamy and is excellent for smudging under the eye for a smoky look.  I also have LANCOMES khol eyeliner in NOIR, as it has a smaller tip and can be used to create smaller, defined lines.  I'm using LOREAL'S SUPERLINER in CARBON GLOSS as my liquid liner, it has a super flexible tip and is sooo easy to use, it gives me a perfect cat eye effect! Also pictured here is DUO eyelash glue in DARK TONE.

Blushes, Bronzers and highlighters....

Ok, so both products pictured above are from SLEEK, the one on the left is the FACE CONTOUR KIT in MEDIUM. This has a great matte contour colour as well as a shimmery gold highlight that looks very subtle on the skin! On the right is a bright pink blush in FLAMINGO, love love this blush for a fresh girly look!

Top left is MAC's mineralised bronzer/blush in THE SOFT MEOW (mentioned in my last post)
I absolutely love highlights and the next two are a couple of my favourites...Top is SUNBEAM from TOPSHOP and has a very strong payoff so a light hand is a must!! Lastly I have a shimmering facial whip from ELF in GOLDEN PEACH, again this gives an amazing glowy finish but must be worked on pretty fast otherwise it can be pretty hard to blend.

Lipsticks and Liners....

So I like to carry a nude natural colour with me and a bright one for when i'm feeling abit more wild, hehe. The lipstick pictured top left is by MAC and is in the colour FAUX, it is a satin finish and I pair it with my NYX lipliner in MAUVE. I also brought MAC's RUBY WOO, a matte red with me which I pair with my NYX lipliner in PLUSH RED.

Lastly, Eyebrows and Concealer...

So I used to use BENEFITS BROWZINGS for my eyebrows but lately I've been using NATURAL COLLECTION's duo eyeshadow in MOCHA/LATTE which I apply with a bit of MAC's fix plus and an angled brush! I then set it with NATURAL COLLECTION's clear mascara. Last thing in my makeup bag is COLLECTION 2000's LASTING PERFECTION concealor in NUMBER 3! Absolute must have concealer for the price and quality!!

so guys, thats what was in my makeup bag, please let me know if you have any questions about the products shown or have any requests!

January Favourites

Seeing as it's the 1st of February, I thought i'd share my favourite products of January with you! I've always been a fan of bright lips and huge statement earrings, but for some reason I have been sporting nude lips and stud earrings all month....weird.  Anyway here are my favourite products of January.....

Lee Stafford Dry Shampoo for Dark hair, Planet Spa face mask from Avon, Sally Hanson Double Duty Top and Base coat, Mac lipsticks in Blankety and Angel, Mac Mineralise blush in The soft meow, Pretty Quick Manicure on the go Nail varnish remover and lastly two pairs of stud earrings one from Topshop and one from Vivienne Westwood!

Ok, so I like to leave two days inbetween washing my hair so I often need to use a dry shampoo to refresh and revive my hair when I'm on an inbetween day.  As I have dark hair other dry shampoos can leave me with a greyish finish so I was excited to try this product especially formulated for dark hair! What I love about this product is that not only does it freshen my hair but it adds extra volume which I luuuurvveee!! This retails for £5.49 for 150mls and can be found at Boots! :)

I LOVE THIS FACE MASK!!! It is a thick white gloopy consistently and smells nice and cooling, however does takes a while to completely dry. Once it is on my skin it feels really refreshing and I can literally feel it sucking out all of the badness from my skin!! After I peel it off of my skin, I can definetly see a difference! My skin looks brighter and feels like a cucumber! Haha. My skin feels soooo so soft, what I love the most is that the softness lasts for two days after i've used it! I'm not to sure how much I paid for this product but it was around the £5 mark.

I have been using this alll of January as my base and top coat!! Firstly I love the super shiny finish it gives my nails that lasts for days and doesnt fade. I also love how my nails can last 2-4 days without chipping wahooo! You can find this product at Boots and retails for £4.95

Ok, as I said I usually like to wear a bright pink or red lipstick but this month i've been loving my nudes!! My favourites being Blankety and Angel from Mac. Blankety is a brownish nude and is a amplified creme finish and so it super moisturising yeey! Angel is a pinkish nude and is a frost finish so is slightly more drying but still gorgeous! These retail for £13.50 each.

Im really into bronzers at the moment and even though this is a mineralised blush, I find it works really well as a bronzer also! This is a a medium tan brown and is easily blendable and buildable, there is a slight shimmer but nothing too heavy and looks so natural on the skin. Retails for £19.

Ok, so this has to be my favourite find of January!!! Just stick ur finger into the pot and twist a couple of times and nail varnish instantly comes off!! I was amazed at how quick this worked for me...I dont think i'll ever go back to normal nail polish remover!! Trust me this is a must try!!

So this is what the pot looks like inside... a soft sponge coated with a nail varnish remover enriched with vitamin C.  The best bit is that this costs only £2 from Boots!

So this month i've really been enjoying studded earrings, these are just a couple of my favourites. They look so classy and chic, and the sparkle adds a touch of girlyness, I like to wear them with my hair up to really show them off. The round ones I found in the Topshop sale for £1.50 and the second pair are from Vivienne Westwood and retail for around £59.

Thanks for stopping by to have a read guys I hope you enjoyed my favourites! Let me know what yours were....
See you soon Liv x x x
